I've had them in the past and they do not hold up....either the hinges turn green from fluids and chemical cleaners and or the wood splits where the segments are glued together. I did not want to go cheap again and was willing to pay over $120 for a brand name marketed by the manufacturer of the toilet. This looked so good in the pictures and the price was right with free shipping.......so I gave it a shot. This is not a "cheapo" It is heavy......solid oak is heavy.....and the individual oak boards comprising it were well matched and mated by well machined, glued tongue and groove joints rather than glued butt joints which are more liable to splitting. Instead of a thin lacquer spray these seats have a heavy plastic sprayed mirror finish. You can tell that the 15" wide seat is comprised of (3 or so)...
